Tems announces she has “left the streets” after being tired of men wasting her time

Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has announced that she has “left the streets” after expressing frustration over men wasting her time.

The Grammy-winning singer made the disclosure during a TikTok livestream on Monday, although she did not elaborate on what prompted the decision or whether it signalled a new development in her love life.

“I don’t like it when guys waste my time. But for me, never again. I don’t have that problem anymore. I have left the streets; I wouldn’t even say I was ever on the streets,” she said.

Tems has previously spoken about the kind of attention she receives from men who approach her for relationships.

In an interview with YouTuber Korty EO last year, the singer said many of the men who approached her were more interested in her body than in building genuine relationships.

She said she would prefer deeper and more meaningful connections rather than relationships driven primarily by physical attraction.
